COUNTRYSIDE SKETCHBOOK
I really love sketching in the countryside. It is somewhere I can walk with the dog, along winding footpaths, looking for quiet, often forgotten places. Corners of fields, Cornish hedgerows and mixed woodland are waiting to be sketched!
Plein air landscape sketching
Oil sticks on a Seawhite paper sketchbook. A quite farm track in the Cornwall countryside was the subject for this sketch. The oil sticks (also known as oil bars) are very messy to use but great fun. You can’t be too precise and this encourages more expression which is a lot of fun!
