MONOCHROME SKETCHBOOK
I often use charcoal, Art Graf or liquid charcoal for sketching when I just want to concentrate on tones and atmosphere in a landscape. Sometimes I just want to carry less with me so I put a few graphite sticks in my pocket and grab a sketchbook.
Nansloe tree - Art Graf and graphite
Polkinghorne Farm track - Faber Castell Pitt pens
Regents Park London - Art Graf and graphite
Nansloe woods - Art Graf & charcoal
Nansloe fields - charcoal and carbon pencil
Portmeor Beach St Ives - liquid charcoal
Plein Air Sketching with inks
I love experimenting and playing with different materials. Sketching outdoors is a great way to do this. You have to work quickly and react to the changing weather and light - you don’t have time to overthink things!
